NZA! Sketches
More NZA! buildings, this time: sketches!
So I have a huge list of all sorts of buildings that needs to be produced for the game, and I start by doing some research and then I sketch a few versions of that building, and I try to make each one appealing on its own, or sometimes I sketch a slightly different version, moving things around a bit to make it better. Then I present all my sketches to my handsome art director (Mike Henry) who picks one and maybe suggests some minor changes. After that I paint them in photoshop which you've seen below. And that's how it's done (Then I have to do some other stuff for the programmers).

NZA! Businesses
Some more buildings from NZA! This time it's businesses. This is just a small sample of nearly 100 buildings I've done for the zombie defending town building game.

No Zombies Allowed!
Hey guys. The game I've been working on at Booyah is out! It's a casual town builder with zombies called No Zombies Allowed!
You can download it for free here for iphone, ipad or ipod touch, here's a trailer. I worked on the backgrounds and the buildings. I also painted that title screen based on Ryan Hall's sketch, who did the NZA! logo and UI designs and various other things in the game. Jake Hallstrom did all the characters and animations. I'll be posting some of my art from the game over the next few weeks. Here are some buildings!

Mið-Ísland Poster

Hey guys, here is something different. This was a freelance gig for a director in Iceland, Ragnar Hansson, who is directing the new TV series "Middle-Iceland", which is a sketch comedy show.
Here is a link to an Icelandic news site with the trailer for the show (click the "horfa á myndskeið með frétt" button). There's also desktop versions of my poster there that you can download, which I did as well. I prefer the poster though, that's how I originally designed it.
I was given photographs of the actors as all these different characters, so I had to be pretty accurate about capturing their likeness, which is tricky when they're "in character". I usually do a bit more stylized stuff, but this was fun. Painted in photoshop of course. The director added the title, logos and text at the bottom.

Lunch doodles

I did this sketch during lunch at work.
This guy was actually looking at the cover of the book the whole time he was eating, but I felt that if my sketch would be of him looking at a closed book that would be kind of silly, so I made the book to be open so now he's reading...
oh I'm a game artist now at a small game studio here in San Fran. Here's a sketch of a girl wearing too large clothing:
