Album cover

Recently I did an album cover for my singer friend María. She has released her first album: Not Your Housewife. I just got the disc in the mail and I have to say they did a good job on the printing.

María, Not Your Housewife is available online at www.gogoyoko.com/mariamagnusdottir.

Right now I'm working on two other album covers, maybe I can post some sketches soon...

Something I'm doodling in my sparetime. I'm quite fond of this style... work in progress...

Back in San Fran

Heyo!

Got back in San Francisco couple of days ago. Iceland was great! I had really good fun back home for those few weeks. Now starts the new semester, I have a good feeling about this one, I'm taking some fun classes. Stick around!

Just a quick sketch of the thief-character Mörri...

Final

Aiiiight, so my summer semester is up! This is my final for landscape painting. I was given the freedom to approach it more like an illustration, so I did this sort of bookcover type painting, urban landscape with a figure.. foggy mysterious mood... Wish I had painted it bigger so I could do the face better, oh well... Flying home to Iceland in couple of days! CYA!

De Young museum trip

Today we had a field trip to the De Young museum. First half we sketched outside the museum, and second half we went inside and checked out the art...

A watercolor sketch of the entrance to the Japanese tea garden, which is next to the museum..

a watercolor sketch of the stairs leading up to De Young

There was an african section in the museum, really cool. Bunch of masks and figurines and real skulls..

Rooftops

We went rooftop painting today. It was a misty overcast morning.

After I finished the painting I did a few compositional sketches with watercolor. It was less cloudy and more sunny by then.

Twin Peaks

and more landscapes

This one was fun, I'm learning tons in class

This one is from a photograph of Jökulsárlón (Glacier lake) in Iceland.

and a couple of sketches from the same location as the first one.
